To restore or bring back to friendship or union after conflict or rupture between individuals and groups. Reconciliation may have a religious connotation or context or be associated with a process between people after an atrocity, or between individuals and socio-political structures where reconciliation is tied up with economic, social, political and environmental justice which all play a therapeutic role in the reconciliation process. There is no doubt that justice contributes to healing.
