Peace is a human concept, and peace can only be achieved when people are in touch with their own humanity
— Simon Xavier Guerrand-Hermès
Founder and Chairman
Guerrand-Hermès Foundation for Peace [GHFP]
The objective of our activity is to facilitate processes that help true human qualities to flourish in the world, and accordingly we think about and investigate key areas of human concern. We believe that identifying good questions through applied research and dialogue can lead to critical changes in perceptions, attitudes and ways of thinking.
GHFP seeks to understand some key concepts in peace, dialogue and human flourishing. By mapping out these conceptual landscapes always in terms of human-centred values we can develop and propose some new ideas in working towards a wider social consciousness of and concern for human-oriented transformation at many levels.
GHFP was established in 1995 by Simon Xavier Guerrand-Hermès and Sharif Istvan Horthy. The founders believe that to effect enduring positive change and transformation in the world, the individual ought to start from a deeper connection with his/her inner life and spirituality. This principle guides the focus of our work and how we approach it.
